As I sat on hold waiting to cancel my satellite internet, I
thought back to the tech that came out only a few weeks ago to troubleshoot and
fix the intermittent drop issues. I felt bad because he had to get up on the
roof, which is not easy on this house, and it really shook him up. He said ours
was his last roof.

Bigger Than the Bear
There he is AGAIN - the rogue bear that hogs the bird feeders. He came by a few weeks ago, and we had to take down the feeders for a few days so he'd move on. He did, so we put the feeders back up.

The Toilet Paper (TP)
Don and I have been on a mission these past few days. Goal: find toilet paper.

What did you do with My Son?
Over the past several months, I’ve been pondering my place
in this world, and life in general. Nothing that unusual for me, but lately my
pondering has taken me in a faith-challenging direction. I’m going to ramble
for a bit, hoping it makes more sense to me – and helps you – when I’m done.

Lesson From a Cholecystectomy
A few weeks ago I had my gallbladder removed…aka, a cholecystectomy. Surprise! One day it just decided it no longer wanted to be in my body and revolted, enflaming my pancreas in the process. I was all too happy to be rid of it, for sure.

Distracted by Family
Last night I participated in a dynamic weekly prayer call. An area of great need is that prodigals return home.
Some of the prayer requests contained specifics about how to trust God, and with not always knowing what to pray. Many of us are fatigued with the wait - and the weight - of unanswered prayers.

Expect the Impossible
Today I read a much-loved Bible story about Jesus walking on the water.
Today the Lord opened my eyes to a new revelation from this familiar story.

Fitness Friday: Hand It Over
This past Monday, Don and I were on our way home from a fun weekend in Raleigh. Our nieces were in a play - starring roles - and we sat on the front row, chests puffed out and tears in our eyes as we watched their performances.

Loaves and Fishes
This morning, I read in Matthew 14 about Jesus feeding the
5,000. As I read, these two verses jumped out at me:
As
evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote
place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to
the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
(Matthew 14:15-16 NIV)
Translated: “Don’t send them away to someone / something / somewhere
else, you take care of them.”

Fitness Friday: Oh Me of Little Faith
This week I am blessed to be in sunny, warm Florida. Right
now I’m looking out at a peaceful pond with a fountain in the middle, blue
skies, and gently swaying palms. What a beautiful day!
Ahhhhh….relaxation at its best.
But my week didn’t start like this.

Self-Care Part 2: Receiving the Answer
When you have a problem to solve or need understanding, and
it’s not a spiritual topic, where do you turn first?
If you’re like me, you often start in your own mind, full of experiences and lessons learned, and you ponder. Then you turn to others who have more experience than you on the topic.

Finally, when no answer is found laterally, you look up to
Jesus.
Wouldn’t our lives be simpler if we started with
Jesus?

Our Procrastination, God’s Perfect Timing
“And
we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his
purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV, emphasis mine)
Even procrastination.

Fitness Friday: Be Intentional
Is there any other way to fitness other than the intentional
route - the one that takes effort, pain, and dogged determination to keep going? Do we “just happen” to become and stay fit, either physically or
spiritually?

Are You Pouring Out?
Over the past few weeks, the Lord has been setting me free
from…stagnation.
Yes, my soul was starting to stink like a backed up sewer. I
was sharp, impatient, and quick to anger. I wanted to just be left alone, all
to myself, so I could have “alone time with God.”

The Man with a Gift
I love to shop right before Christmas - you know, just days before, when crowded stores, long lines, and parking lot jams test everyone's patience. I enjoy watching people, young and old, searching for just the right gift at just the right price. And I enjoy shopping with Jesus - He always leads me to the best gifts!
