Have you ever noticed how a dancer fixes their eyes on one spot while spinning? Their heads spin quickly around to hit that one spot. Helps them keep their balance.

True Colors
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. (James 1:2-4, The Message)

Rest in the Mess
I was running late on Sunday. I woke up late, and had several things I needed to do before I left for workout and church, including making the bed, straightening up the bedroom, and wow, my office looks like a tornado hit it! The mess everywhere was really stressing me out.

Read the Manual
My husband Don has had his truck for over 2 years. His visors don't have an extender panel that can be pulled out to extend the visor length. He wondered why the manufacturer left out something so important.

The Lord Knows
My husband Don is a roofer by trade. He no longer works full time in roofing, but sometimes does small repairs for people he knows.

God Will Move the Mountain
This weekend Don and I volunteered at a Joyce Meyer conference in Hershey. It was awesome - worship with Natalie Grant, time with friends, and right-on-time messages by Joyce.

Garbage In, Garbage Out
Don and I have a nightly ritual of eating dinner while watching TV. We sometimes pause the show (yay DVRs!) and talk, it's like our down time at the end of the day.

Praying for Unbelievers
Over the years, I've prayed for many people who don't know the Lord, for them to come to salvation. I've read books, attended conferences, and talked to others about how they pray.

Daily Reset
This morning as I made my bed, my mind engaged in it's usual pondering.
I pondered how the bed needs a daily "reset" to straighten out the covers that somehow, every night, get skewed and pulled up / over / everywhere except where they are supposed to be. And how nice it is when we get into bed that night to have everything start out in order.

Mother's Day
Mother’s Day.
The very term brings a flood of conflicting emotions. Joy at
the blessing of spending time with my mom, and at the blessing of a wonderful
mother-in-law. Praise and thanksgiving when I think about my spiritual moms.
Then a deep ache because we never had children. Even though we
know it’s God’s plan, and His plan is always good, it still hurts.

Every Voice Matters
In response to people's responses about the election, I have been posting thoughts on Facebook. Since everyone is not on Facebook, thought I'd collect them and post them here, too. I encourage all of you to pray, and to speak out for righteousness when given the chance.
Every voice matters.

Peace vs. Victory
Thought to ponder today, from Proverbs:
"Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city."
(Proverbs 16:32, NIV)

Resurrecting Passion, One Day at a Time
Ever since I
wrote the blog, “A Listless Life”, the Lord has been trying to teach me, an
analytical over-thinker, to live one day at a time. Acts 8:26-40, the story of
Phillip and the Ethiopian, is a great example of step by step obedience, and one
of my favorite Bible stories.
