MultiColor Monday: David Brannock

This week, the series continues another member from my Word Weavers critique group (click here for more info on my group), David Brannock.

About MultiColor Monday: As most of you know, all writers need regular inspiration. On the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month, I’ll share information about people who inspire me by their writing and their lives. The series is called Multi-Color Monday to reflect the beauty and diversity of God’s children. My hope is that you, too, will be blessed and inspired by those you meet here.

About David:

David is a pastor at heart, actor by hobby, and a gifted writer and blogger. From his blog’s “meet David” summary:

“I was born on the coast but choose to live in the mountains. I can speak to preachers and congregants alike since I have walked many miles in both worlds. As a lay member of a non-denominational church, I enjoy following Jesus where I can help make disciple makers.”

Check out his blog at Set Free to Soar, where you’ll find weekly messages to encourage and challenge you.

How David inspires me:

David is faithful – faithful to write every week, faithful to seek God in everything, faithful to do all God asks of Him to the best of his ability, faithful to “do the next thing” when God seems silent. When he struggles, he turns to God and honestly pours out his heart. David is not afraid to ask God the tough questions, or to ask for help when he needs it. He also gives honest feedback when asked for his opinion. I am blessed by his friendship.

Prayer for David:

Lord, bless David with deeper revelation of your amazing and endless love for him. Give him a vision of You smiling down on him, pleased with his life dedicated to your glory. Show David more of your perspective on his life – how you see the fruits of all his labor. Bless his quiet time with you, his marriage, his writing career, and all the works of his hands. Give him wisdom for every choice he makes, and keep him on the path of your perfect will.

My “favorite” David post:

Speakers Block: When GodMust Fill Your Mouth.  This post is about confidence in Christ to provide the words you need. When you ask in humble dependence on Him, He shows up. From the post:

“I prayed, ‘Lord, fill my mouth. You’re my only hope.’ Then I began to speak.

To this day I have no idea what I said. Or rather, what God said through me. My mind stayed in neutral while the Spirit used my voice to deliver His message.”

I’ve experienced this in my own life, and yet I often forget God’s promise...and my dependence. This post is an excellent and timely reminder for me.

MULTI-COLOR MONDAY CHALLENGE:
If you need inspiration today, check out David’s writing at Set Free to Soar.

Also, take a few moments to thank someone who inspires you. You’ll both be blessed!
